Infrastructures and
Urban Social
Reproduction

This website is a living repository for events and resources that document the transformational potential of community-based urban infrastructures in Mexico, Greece and beyond. These infrastructures–both material and social–support life and political action in cities characterized by state abandonment and disinvestment in communal well being.

The site houses recordings of a two-day virtual workshop organized by the University of Manchester and the Colegio de México, with funding support from the Urban Studies Foundation. It also functions as a convergence space for an emerging network of scholars, activists, and community organizations working around themes of urban and socio-material infrastructures, acting as a hub for the network’s activities, events, and publications.
